Dig Dis: This is a Shame

ITS A SHAME THAT I'VE GONE THIS LONG WITHOUT UPDATING MY BLOGSPOT SO I DO APOLOGIZE TO THOSE FEW THAT LIKE TO FOLLOW THIS.

RIGHT NOW I'M, WELL WRITING THIS BLOG, TRYING TO DECIDE IF WRITING IN ALL CAPS WANTS TO BE THE MOVE I MAKE. NOT QUITE SURE IF THIS JUST READS LIKE I MIGHT BE SCREAMING OR NOT. BUT DIG DIS, I HAVE YET TO PUT THE LINK TO MY SINGLE GOODIE BAG FROM MY UPCOMING MIXTAPE ELEPHANT NOISE UP ON THIS JOINT SO THATS GOING IN THIS POST. AS FAR AS THIS PROJECT, WHICH IS MY FIRST PROJECT, I'M FEELING PRETTY CONFIDENT IN IT. TO MY KNOWLEDGE AND MY LIKING I DON'T THINK THIS WILL BE A VERY DISAPPOINTING MIXTAPE ESPECIALLY BEING MY FIRST. LOADS OF HEAD BANGERS I MUST SAY AND HELLA CHILL JOINTS TOO. AND THE BIG PIC AT THE TOP OF MY PAGE IS THE ALBUM ART CURTOSY OF MEAGHAN KYLE.

There are hella spitters on this as in Hipnosis, Akzionz, G5 Clive, Vaughn Garcia, Nate Grey and original beats from Vaughn Garcia and Ceph Booige (yea i got tired of that CAPS). But yea, I'm looking forward to this. I have a show this coming weekend at the Expo, July 25th, and I'm excited about that also. It will be my first solo rap performance so I am kinda nervous but I'll get over it and it will be fine. So yea. Check out my sites(which will be in caps), download the single, enjoy the music and wish me luck.

Namaste Bitches

so yesterday was the longest day of my life and one of the better days of my oh so drab summer. woke up ate a bowl of cereal, showered, went out to eastern market with my twin. Got this really cute silver bead blouse thing, another little shirt and a couple of earings. saw this house in dc that did not belong, like we walked in the back way and it seemed as if the clouds had parted and nature had choreographed this huge dance number. house was bangin. hopped on the train to the Carribean Day Parade which started off whack cause the police baracaded the sidewalks like dumbass and no one was having fun. but eventually the whole parade seemed to have jumped the gates. got tired. went home showered the blue paint off my arm and went the expo for this circus show and i danced and got tired. that was my day basically pretty good one. full of laughs and stuff. still tired. so Namaste bitches

oh and if you've never seen me dance come to the expo i should be doing another show at some point and i'll post all of those goodies up on here also. heres a clip from school though. i've got the gold watch, green boxer briefs, and gray top on.

F.A.C.C: Static Shock

Its that time again!!! (crowd roars). Its the Fine Ass Carton Character of the week and as the heading says Static shock is our man.

Now, we don't get that many black superheros and when we do he better be electrifying. (corny i know) When Static Shock came on the scene for our favorite cartoon weekend lineup on the WB, now known as the CW(womp womp), people were in utter shock. This fine chocolate brother with about 7 or 8 locks and super powers lite up the hearts of about every little black girl looking for the actual dark knight. Besides the beautifully animated teen this show was just completely relatable to my childhood. Gang affiliated villans, going home after a night on the town etc etc. Virgel/Static shock your are the one!!

Here's the opening for ya!! Enjoy!! Does that sound like Bow Wow on the opening? another WOMP WOMP.

there's something about a women with nicely painted nails and nice hands. not the over the top pronails per-say but just a clean looking mani. you catch a glance at her hands and can assume anything in the world about her. maybe she's successful, has her whole life in order. i love my little danty hand. washing my hands has become my new favorite past time. idk. i just feel different and immediately so charming. i'll put up a pic of my hands later so you can make up a story about me in some foreign country for buissness but actually smuggling a large amount of "goods" out through her favorite teddy bear.

Jimmy Talk

hello my name is Jimmy. i live inside her head. all she ever feeds me is milk, fruit and bread.
a diet i cant stomach; she'd rather see me dead. i'd rather see her locked away in the place i rest my head.

she never saw me coming till by her side i steady keep and torment her existence and violate her sleep. locked up for so long, dorment monster is a child for only her bruises and cuts leave across my face a smile.

when she isn't looking i knock down all the blocks and help her find a hell beneath the circulating rocks. how now is her slumber and my ever waking throne walking with her hand in mine and taking her alone.

hello my name is Jimmy so happy to be free. greeting you with her smile not knowing that its me.

Jukebox Daily: Ol' School Joint

This is 97' Mary J Blige with Lil Kim. Classic 90s RnB, you can't go wrong with that. They got that 90s bounce goin on in the video. Miss this type of music. This is the live version btw's. enjoy!!!

I Can Love You - Mary J. Blige

Woe is Me!!!!

Its gone, one of my best friends in the whole wide world. My Dell Inspiron 1501 has left this world it seemS, or maybe its just in some slight coma, but never the less its..(dramatic pause)..................gone. All I freakin want off of it is my music and resume'. How am I going to survive with out MY RESUME'. And on top of that its raining and Vaughn Garcia was suppose to swing by to give me beats, on my computer. I am of course still using my sister's computer but its just not the same. I hope she's just napping and not just gone for ever. I drew a picture about my sorrow.

That's a picture of me with a tear and my cute hair cute (lol throw in some vanity once in a while) and thats my computer with the little death eyes and tounge. So pokemon i kno. It came out backwards but it say's why me. The 'Y' in ' WHY' is behind my head like magazine covers. It gets even more depressing, Mary Mary's new song is on, the one that sounds like T-Pizzle produced it. WHY ME!!!

F.A.C.C: Simba

Yet another new segment ya'll! F.A.C.C stands for Fine Ass Carton Characters and as the heading says Simba is our man.
From the beginning with his outstanding introduction into the Pride I have been proud to find this character one of the biggest sex pots of my childhood. The panty-dropper of all panty-droppers would have to be his dynamic transformation from cub to lion in the Hakuna Matata scene. He's even fine on the Broadway version. This young pub has made a huge inpression through the 1st,2nd, and 2 1/2 movies. Love this F.A.C.C.

More of Me

So this is just a song I did a while ago, feel free to download it free from here. I got new music coming soon and a possible mixtape. Gotta work my other talents, tell me what you think. Enjoy!

Mother Minds

My mom say's some good shit, often. Very smart women (btw's this will be another segment, look out for it) I must say. Today we were just building about shit while going through all the one dollar makeup she got from Nordstrom and we were just talking about organizing your self and the importance of patience in your life. Lately just sleeping my days away because, I don't know why, but just being the least productive person possibly and I've also been stressing about getting another job, but mah'dukes set it straight for me. You know put it all in perspective for me. She said I loss more energy from just sleeping and that organizing your day is the best way to make good habits that will support the rest of your life. Staying active, especially as a dancer or for anyone, is imperative and making good habits. Getting up in the morning and walking a mile, taking a yoga class, reading up on shit in your career you know. Just preparing yourself for the next day, Secondly, patience is key. No matter how anxious you get in your career and your work patience keeps you balanced and at ease. Just knowing that you've put your all in everything should leave you with the confidence to just sit let oppourtunities and rewards come to you. Basically that was the conversation you know. Take what you want from it!!

Limite Magazine on Sa-Ra's Nuclear Evolution

SA-RA - Nuclear Evolution: The Age Of Love

The dynamic Soul-trio, Sa-Ra has been working in the studio intensely over the last several months, and they’re ready to let the world hear their new album Nuclear Evolution: The Age of Love, delivering the otherworldly opus and bombastic soul sounds with a unique and unconstrained blend of street wit, dirty-sex talk, tall stories, intergalactic future sounds.

If you got the privilege of listening to their first album, you’re well aware of the twisted yet rather feel-good vibe their all about. According to the list of high-profile artists requesting their production services their sound has an infectious global spread and appeal. Most recently SRCP have been making their mystical magical soulful productions for Erykah Badu. Serving as her associate producers, they wrote, appeared, and produced on seven of the tracks from her 2008 album New Amerykahalbum. She returns the favor with a guest appearance on “Dirty Beauty” on Nuclear Evolution. Other collaborators that SRCP have worked with include Pharoahe Monche (on“Agent Orange” track), John Legend, Andre 3000, Black Eyed Peas, Talib Kweli, J Dilla, Fonzworth Bentley, Heavy D, Common, Iggy Pop, Herbie Hancock, Dr. Dre, Jill Scott, and Jurassic 5.

Balancing the call to make music for other people with working as the SRCP unit (and working their solo projects,) has been quite a feat. “We find time because we love doing this,” explains Husayn. “We are drawn closer to Nirvana, with each release and creative statement. As for our own stuff, it is all an extension of our will to create things from out of the mind,” he adds.

Helping SRCP realize their potential on Nuclear Evolution is a crew of friends and co-conspirators that includes legends like soul chanteuse Erykah Badu, and saxophonist Gary Bartz with his quartet. The album also features up-and-coming talent like Debi Nova, Rozzie Daime, Noni Lamar, Erika Rose, Brook D’leau of J*Davey, Joseph Liemberg, Fenetta Lowe & Jimetta Rose. Easy to like, but difficult to pigeon hole, the album oozes equal parts jazz, soul, pop, funk, and hip-hop. The eclectic collection of productions bounces from the sticky and bubbly soul of “Gemini’s Rising”, to the string laden bump of “He Say She Say,” and the outer-worldly bossa nova of “Spacefruit.”

Dig Dis: Pretty Wings

So I know I'm late but this is a beautiful song by Maxwell whose making a comeback!! HELLS YEA! Be on the lookout for that in 2009, here's 'Pretty Wings' by Maxwell.

Scruff McGruff

I've noticed an interesting trend happening recently with men becoming more and more grimmy looking; and surprisingly, a lot of women dig this. Unshaven, no hair cut, and the "Bummy, i-don't-have-an-iron-but-I'm-still-way-more-flyer-than-you" look. Thrifty individuals I must say and its almost as intriguing as the revival of the dark skin dude. My beaux is on that tip and i dig it. I think there's something enticing and sexy about a man who can just throw on the same jeans he's been wearing on all week and just walk around his city as he is. These men are either swaggerjacker who saw the interest in this or are extremely confident in themselves that this is not an issue for them. I appreciate this trend because it makes our men more focused on the things that really matter, but you can keep your suit and kick game up!

DIG DIS: Rotary Connection

Rotary Connection's psychedelic chamber soul continues to sound ambitious and progressive decades after the group's departure. Instantly recognizable from the dramatic string arrangements of Charles Stepney and the five-octave voice of Minnie Riperton, the group released six albums between 1967 and 1971 that combined rock, soul, and psychedelia to theatrical and occasionally transcendental ...more

This Bitch Felix!

So I figured I'd leave ya'll with something to sleep on. This is a crafty crafty women. Men wanna be with her, women just are amazed and want to pick this craft up. Enjoy!!

Pastor Present : Hustle Art

So I want to do, like maybe daily or when ever one comes to mind, segment on just fly ass people. Two people at a time from the past and present ( hence the title) that relate in some way. So today's theme is Hustlin' Arts and the two people for this is Mrs. Josephine Baker and today's Beyonce.
Like I said earlier I was watching the Josephine Baker Story and this chick was determined as a muthafuka to get up out her situation and make a name for herself. That's the shit I've been tryna get on lately so I relate ,matta fact, everyone I've been in contact with or see has been on the same shit and Mrs. Baker is the prime example of this. This women had a monkey, tiger, and her own rainbow tribe like shit, and never let anybody see her sweat about it either. I don't know about ya'll but everyone I know needs learn how to hustle up on some bananas. Tryna turn these blueberries into diamonds like shit.
As for Beyonce, I'm not her biggest fan but this girl hustles till the end. She got her hand in everything. Not saying at all that she's the modern day Josephine but she definitely has made her name and face in the game.

What it do!?

Could today be any better! Besides the fact that this is my very first entry on this trendy little accessory, today overall has been positively D-lightful, I watered the yard, did just about nothing, re-watched The Josephine Baker story thanks to the DVR, discovered that my twin sister is secertly some badass from like Amsterdam that does what ever the f*** she wants, etc. Not very eventful but the things that did go down were memorable.
So this is my first entry and with these kinds of things introductions are necessary thus, here I am. Knowledgeable, Culturaly accepting and perceptive, and me. But besides that just cool as shit. Looking forward to spending sometime with these internet folks. Btw's I'ma try not to leave too much out in my posts and touch on just about everything but this was just the first so enjoy me i guess. Thats me in the pic on the right. Love Ya Lovely!!
